In line with our increasing business, we are looking for qualified and experienced candidates for HVDC Electrical engineer to join our APAC T&D team and be based in India.
Job Description
Context:
Our T&D team assists clients in achieving compliance and efficiency by conducting studies to navigate the design, grid connection and access standards for their energy generation projects. You will become part of a global, tight-knit team of engineers engaged in diverse projects supporting multiple type of international interconnection and grid connection projects (solar, wind, hydro, etc.). Our team also provides technical assistance to Transmission Grid Operators and helps the private sector secure crucial grid investments through expert technical support. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career and play a pivotal role in expanding and shaping the business in Asia-Pacific for a multinational company while supporting clients across Asia, but also Europe, and Africa.
Regular working days: Mon-Fri., 8 hours/day, 5 days/week
Responsibility:
- Conduct studies for HVDC projects: feasibility, design stages, tender design, detailed design; and deriving the Main circuit parameters and Equipment requirement specification, for both LCC and VSC based HVDC Projects primarily in Asia but also in Europe, Middle East, Australia and Africa.
- Support the Business Development activities by supporting proposals preparation, Clients’ meetings and providing related technical advisory.
- Prepare comprehensive study reports, ranging from HVDC feasibility studies for energy developers to FEED and detailed studies.
- Deliver high-quality outputs within agreed parameters, formats, and timelines, and review the work of other employees when necessary.
- Conduct complex assessments, provide specialist advice/solutions and training, conduct technical presentations to internal and external clients.
- Engage in technical developmental activities, including attending conferences and participating in industry presentations.

Qualifications
- Bachelor/ Master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Having 5-10 years of relevant working experience as Electrical engineer in HVDC projects, feasibility/design studies, detailed engineering, site implementation, component engineering and technical support to national transmission utilities for both LCC and VSC based HVDC Projects
- Having good communication skills to support Business Development and Clients’ interactions
- Any additional experience in the following fields is beneficial: cable design, protection coordination and relay settings studies, earthing grid studies, lightning protection, preferably for a HVDC converter station
- Familiar with international codes and standards relevant to detailed electrical design for HVDC and T&D assets such as IEC, IEEE/ANSI, NFPA standards.
- Demonstrated experience in HVDC projects. Any additional proven capabilities in electrical software tools such as Autocad, ETAP etc. is beneficial.
- Experience working within a HVDC EPC/supplier, and/or supporting similar projects within technical consultancy companies or experience working for a Utility on HVDC assets.
- Having ability to manage works under time and resources constraints to finish works in time with good quality and having ability to work under pressure
- Having good logic of thinking, problem solving and willingness working in team.
- Good level in English communication.
