About the role

As Head of IT & Digitalization in the Energy Division COO’s team, you will play a central role in Unlocking AFRY and helping bring our new strategy to life. The role could be located flexibly in Denmark, Sweden or Finland. 

In this position, you will guide the division’s digital evolution securing that we leverage from AI, data, and modern digital capabilities while building harmonized, future-proof ways of working.

Your responsibilities

You will 

  • Lead the division’s digital transformation journey, ensuring alignment with AFRY’s Next Chapter, Group IT strategy, and our business needs.
  • Strengthen operational efficiency in close collaboration with Group IT by harmonizing applications, platforms, infrastructure, and ways of working.
  • Standardize processes, reduce complexity, and identify automation and digitalization opportunities to unlock meaningful business value.

It´s essential to identify business needs, therefore you will

  • Engage with the business to understand challenges, opportunities, and needs — translating them into impactful digital initiatives.
  • Assess and review business processes to ensure we prioritize the initiatives that create the most value.
  • Align divisional ambitions with enterprise-wide platforms to ensure consistency and scalability across AFRY.

To succeed in this role, adoption & change management as well is a main part of your work 

  • Lead change management efforts for group-wide digital initiatives, ensuring clear communication, strong adoption, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Support a culture of digital confidence by promoting structured training, transparent communication, and engaging learning experiences.
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing around digital capabilities, scaling best practices across the division to maximize value.

As a role model for meaningful and forward-looking use of data & AI, you are asked to 

  • Promote AI and data literacy across the division, building awareness, competence and help colleagues feel confident, capable, and inspired to use data as a value creator.
  • Strengthen data governance, harmonization, ownership, and quality in partnership with Group IT and business teams.

 

Your profile

  • Essential: Significant proven senior leadership experience in digital transformation, from both a business and IT perspective.
  • Together with the following:
  • A strong understanding of business development and digital business models.
  • Confidence in data-driven decision-making with a clear understanding of how data supports strategic direction and business foundations.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business needs into meaningful digital solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust, alignment, and clarity across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Solutions-oriented and pragmatic approach— someone who sees opportunities and helps turn them into results.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written).
  • natural ambassador for Unlocking AFRY, bringing energy, curiosity, and collaboration.
