Job Description
Are you looking to build trust, enable dialogue and shape labor relations, then join our Nordic People & Labor Relations team:
As a Labor Law Specialist at AFRY, you will take on a pivotal role, providing expert support to managers and the People & Culture team on matters related to labor law, collective agreements, workplace environment and negotiations when required. The role has a Nordic focus with an emphasis on Denmark, but you will also support other Nordic countries, when needed.
You will guide the organization in interpreting and applying laws and collective agreements. You will contribute to an open and constructive dialogue with Danish Works Council, fostering long-term, trust-based relationships. Part of the role also involves providing support on workplace environment matters.
As a Labor Law Specialist, you will translate legal expertise into clear and actionable advice, develop, improve and implement working methods within the area, and ensure these are communicated in a structured manner. You will also conduct training sessions and webinars tailored to business needs.
You will become part of the Nordic People & Labor Relations team, which supports AFRY’s growth and helps ensure the company remains an attractive employer. The team is characterized by strong collaboration, knowledge sharing, and an open culture. The position is based in Copenhagen or Aarhus, with the possibility of remote work.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a relevant law degree (e.g. Cand.jur., Cand.merc.jur., or similar), combined with strong expertise in labor law, in‑depth knowledge of collective agreements, and several years of proven experience within the field.
In addition, you bring:
- Experience in resolving labor law disputes through negotiations
- Experience in independently leading redundancies, organizational changes, and alignment of terms and conditions
- Experience providing business‑oriented labor law support
- Strong communication skills and the ability to express yourself clearly and formally, both verbally and in writing, in Danish and English
Experience of working in a Nordic context and supporting the business with labor law matters across the Nordic countries is considered a strong merit.
Who you are
To succeed in the role, you are confident in your professional expertise and accustomed to managing labor law processes from start to finish. You are analytical, structured and pragmatic, with a strong ability to identify solutions and propose a clear way forward – independently as well as in collaboration with others.
You have very strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a consultative, down-to-earth approach. You enjoy building long-term, trust-based relationships with managers, People & Culture colleagues and union representatives, and you easily adapt your support to the needs of the business.
With a high level of personal drive and a strong interest in labor law and collective agreements, you are motivated by working in a large, knowledge-intensive organization where you can combine operational matters with a more strategic perspective.
