We are looking for a talented and motivated BIM Operator with a strong understanding of Lighting Design to join our team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the delivery of innovative and high-quality projects, bringing together BIM technology and lighting design solutions.

Job Description

You will be responsible for assisting in the creation, maintenance, and coordination of BIM models for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards.

Collaborating closely with the lighting design team to integrate lighting components and systems into the BIM environment will be a key part to role.

The role will require help in developing lighting-specific BIM elements and Revit families for integration into project models.

You will be required to support the coordination between different disciplines, ensuring seamless integration of lighting design with other architectural, structural, and MEP elements.

Ensuring that lighting design models adhere to the project’s BIM execution plan and client requirements and assisting in the preparation of 3D visualizations and renderings for lighting design presentations.

You will also be responsible for maintaining and updating project documentation, ensuring all models reflect the latest design changes and revisions.

Also providing support and training to junior team members in lighting design integration within BIM software.

Qualifications

It would be a plus if you possess some of the following skills and experience, but if you can’t tick every box, we will help you to develop:

  • To be proficient in Revit and other BIM-related software.
  • Basic knowledge of lighting design principles and integration into BIM workflows.
  • Experience in the creation and modification of Revit families, specifically for lighting design.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, with the ability to coordinate lighting design with other disciplines (architecture, structural, MEP).
  • Good understanding of project standards, codes, and regulations related to lighting design.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

And it would be desirable but not essential to have some of the following:

  • Knowledge of 3D modelling, rendering, and visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with lighting design software such as Dialux, Relux, or similar is a plus.
  • An understanding of BIM protocols and best practices.
  • Prior experience working in the construction or architectural sectors.
  • Relevant certifications or training in BIM or lighting design.
