Are you a process engineer in the area of machining and interested in working with commercial aero engines? This is the job for you!

Our customer in Trollhättan, working with sustainable aerospace innovation, is currently looking for a process engineer with competence in the machining area eager to join their team.

As a process engineer you will provide technical product support connected to both conventional and non-conventional machining to the engineering organization at the client. Products vary from complete engine systems to space nozzles and structural components for commercial partners. The group consists of 17 process engineers and work with a wide variety of special processes.

You will be involved in laboratory errands in order to evaluate, understand and report how machining processes affect the surface integrity of parts. A great opportunity to challenge suggested processes and yourself on a day-to-day basis.

As a process engineer your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support design engineering teams and suppliers with knowledge and expertise in machining.
  • Evaluate proposed machining processes on concepts, preliminary and/or final designs.
  • Support the development work on process control and standardization.
  • Review and analyze data from internal and supplier processes
  • Support the manufacturing organization by problem solving and answering questions
  • Perform process simulations / tests / support during manufacturing of hardware

Qualifications

To be a good fit for the role you are an engineer with a degree in the area of Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Material and Processes, 
Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

You are a natural problem solver and find a troubleshooting environment stimulating. Your communication skills are excellent and you have the ability to establish good relations with the people around you. 

Preferably you are fluent in both Swedish and English. 

While you manage to work well individually, you prefer to work in multi-disciplinary teams and consider yourself as a team player. You are curious, innovative and take responsibility within the team. 

In addition to above we believe that the perfect candidate have:

  • Experience from industry connected to non-conventional machining, for instance Laser
  • machining, EDM, water-jet machining.
  • Experience with material such as Titanium and Nickel-based alloys
  • Experience or knowledge of zero-defect manufacturing, APQP and PPAP standards including
  • PFMEA, Process Control Plans, and Process Capability
  • Ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams
