Job Description

We are looking for a new Analyst / Consultant to join our team within the Wood Products sector.

As advisors to the wood products sector we play an important role in the transition to a sustainable economy, and in recent years we have seen a strong growth of our business. Our clients are stock listed, private and family owned businesses along the wood products value chain as well as private equity firms, banks and financial institutions. We support our clients on a broad range of topics including strategic advisory, operational and business excellence, and market intelligence. 

From day one, you are involved in the development of analyses and concepts, in direct contact with our clients. Using the principle of ‘learn-on-the-job’, you benefit directly from the experience of other team members. Together with the team you will develop valuable insights and advice for decision makers.

Your tasks

  • Working as part of client engagement teams on projects focusing on market, investment and financial modelling by gathering qualitative and quantitative information, and analysing these
  • Supporting on due diligence and investment feasibility study projects
  • Creating and expanding industry financial and market models
  • Helping to maintain and update AFRY’s internal market and industry databases that contain descriptions and details on every wood-based panel, surfacing material, sawmill and engineered wood products mill in the world
  • Conducting expert discussions along the wood products value chain to obtain insights and verify assumptions for our consulting assignments
  • Collaborating daily with office locations in Europe and beyond

Location: Stockholm or Gothenburg
Start date: Flexible but at the latest Q1 2023

Qualifications

  • University degree education, preferably M.Sc. Business/Economics with major in Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Interest in a career as Management Consultant
  • Interest in the wood products sector; initial experience in the sector as part of your studies or previous employment is an advantage
  • Analytical mindset, strong quantitative problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge in English (verbal and written) is required. Proficiency in any other language, particularly Swedish and/or German is meritorious
  • Excellent team work capabilities and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a variety of roles, cultural settings and across sectors in an international environment
  • Flexibility to travel as needed, as well as work with a multitude of organisations, cultures and people in client projects
