Job Description
Ok, so we know that everyone says that they’ve got the best team in talent acquisition but hands down, we really do. Prove it you say!
We could lean on our Hiring Manager NPS of 86, Candidate NPS of 93, or our team Engagement Score of 100% (yes, you read that right 100%). Or we could talk about the awards we’ve won over the past few years for excellence in candidate experience and employer branding. But honestly? What makes this team genuinely special is our “care and passion”. The “care” for each other and for delivering an outstanding candidate experience. The “passion” for finding the right talent and delivering on AFCA’s purpose. Oh, and we have a load of fun whilst doing it!
So, what will you be doing? This role offers variety galore. You’ll be the architect of AFCA’s proactive sourcing strategy, hunting for exceptional talent before roles even go live, building pipelines that make hiring managers’ eyes light up, and putting AFCA on the radar of passive candidates who didn’t even know they were looking.
As a Strategic Sourcing Consultant, you will partner with Recruitment & Careers Consultants and hiring managers to build a rich, shared understanding of who we’re looking for and where diversity of background, thought and experience is front and centre, alongside technical skills and cultural fit. You’ll bring a cutting-edge sourcing toolkit to the table, combining Boolean and X-Ray search mastery with AI-powered sourcing tools, emerging platforms, and market intelligence to find talent others simply can’t. You’ll craft high-touch, compelling outreach that makes people genuinely want to learn more about AFCA, and you’ll hand over polished shortlists that are not only exceptional in quality, but intentionally diverse, setting every hire up for success from day one.
This is a newly created, permanent role in our Careers & Employer Brand team a real opportunity to shape how we attract talent at AFCA.
Qualifications
So, what experience will set you up for success?
- You’ll have dedicated experience in talent sourcing or recruitment, with a focus on non-volume or professional services roles. You know this space and you know it well.
- You’ll be a master of LinkedIn Recruiter, SEEK Talent Search, and alternative sourcing channels like GitHub or niche industry forums. Boolean and X-Ray search? Second nature.
- You have a proven track record of delivering diverse shortlists and genuinely understand the nuances of inclusive sourcing. Fairness isn’t just AFCA’s thing, it’s yours too.
- You’ll be an exceptional communicator and someone who can represent AFCA’s value proposition to senior passive candidates and make them sit up and take notice.
- You’re comfortable consulting with and influencing senior leaders on market reality and talent availability. Diplomatically direct is your style.
- You can analyse sourcing data, spot bottlenecks, and pivot strategies with confidence.
- You’re self-motivated, persistent, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same.
- Experience with SmartRecruiters or a similar enterprise-level ATS is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker.
