Job Description
Bring your advanced Power BI expertise to a role where your insights genuinely influence decision‑making across AFCA. As our Business Intelligence Developer, you’ll design and deliver high‑impact dashboards, reporting solutions, and data‑driven insights that shape how AFCA works, improves and serves its members.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Analytics, you’ll build scalable BI solutions, uncover meaningful trends, and translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across all levels, champion continuous improvement, and help strengthen our data governance and reporting standards.

Typically in this role you will:
- Deliver advanced reporting, dashboards, and analytics using SQL and Power BI
- Translate complex data requirements into impactful visualisations
- Provide meaningful insights and strategic recommendations to leaders
- Build strong relationships across AFCA and manage BI requests
- Champion BI best practice, governance, and continuous improvement
- Work end‑to‑end with IT, data engineering, and business teams using Agile methodologies
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI: Power Query, Row-Level Security, Expert-level DAX skills for creating efficient, scalable measures and calculations are mandatory
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex, high-quality Power BI dashboards and reports in a business-critical environment.
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience with data modelling, warehousing, and ETL processes.
- Ability to design performant data models and optimize Power BI solutions for speed and scalability.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently, proactively identify data issues, and deliver solutions without extensive supervision.
