Job Description

​​​​​​AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Construction Manager to be based in Los Angeles, CA

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. 
  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface. 
  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
  • Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.
  • Collaborates and communicates with a broad community of stakeholders.
  • Assists Client with delivery method selection, procurement, contract planning and administration.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with the design team from design and through construction, including collaboration with users and stakeholders to translate their requirements.
  • Represents the Client in day-to-day project activities to ensure work is accomplished safely, aligned with project goals and criteria, and within budget and schedule, and on time.
  • Resolves complex project related issues, disputes, and disagreements
  • Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including project schedules, cost control, quality management and control.
  • Manages the plan check and permit process, and construction phase inspections.
  • Reviews status and monitors variances of the project management information system relative to scheduling, cost control and other project metrics, and provide project reporting
  • Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple projects
  • Supports Program Management business development and proposal efforts as needed.
  • Manage project teams and staff

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in engineering, construction management, architecture or similar related field preferred and 8+ Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience managing capital programs and projects including building/facilities planning, team procurement, design, construction, contract administration, cost, scheduling and reporting
  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare, government and/or education facilities design, planning and construction
  • Alternative delivery project experience including Progressive Design Build
  • California public contracting, labor agreements, prevailing wage / DIR, DSA, HCAI experience
  • Additional courses and training in business administration, public relations, accounting, school finance, personnel management, educational facilities planning, and communication

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

  • A valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI)
  • A valid Project Management Professional certification by the Project Management Institute
  • LEED Professional Accreditation
