Job Description

We are seeking a Vice President, Industrial Market Sector Lead for the West Environment business line. This senior leader will execute the industrial market agenda, serving as a senior seller and Client Account Manager (CAM) within priority industrial segments. The role focuses on converting market intelligence and client relationships into a sustained pipeline and profitable growth across site investigation, remediation, PFAS, and adjacent environmental services.

The ideal candidate is commercially accountable, skilled at mobilizing cross-practice teams around client priorities and recognized in relevant industrial segments. This person will shape opportunities and position AECOM to win complex, multi-site environmental work.

Core Mandate

  • Act as a growth leader and client executive with accountability for winning and growing the West Environment business.
  • Originate and advance strategic accounts and pursuits from early positioning through capture strategy and award.
  • Set and execute the West industrial growth strategy, translating it into actionable plans and a qualified pipeline.
  • Integrate AECOM’s capabilities to deliver differentiated solutions.
  • Success measures include impact on accounts, revenue growth, pipeline health, and talent pipeline strength.

Key Responsibilities

Market Strategy and Portfolio Growth

  • Develop an industrial growth plan with market priorities and targets.
  • Track client capital programs and regulatory drivers that create environmental demand.
  • Identify scalable offerings across investigation, remediation, and long-term stewardship.
  • Monitor market conditions and provide actionable insights on shifts and growth gaps.
  • Collaborate with leaders to align sector strategy with execution.

Strategic Account Leadership

  • Serve as CAM for priority accounts, building actionable account plans.
  • Build multi-threaded relationships across environmental and operational stakeholders.
  • Coordinate account teams to expand AECOM’s position.

Executive Client Development

  • Represent AECOM with executive-level stakeholders and lead strategic workshops.
  • Act as executive sponsor for selected strategic accounts.

Enterprise Integration and Market Leadership

  • Partner with technical leaders to package capabilities and take solutions to market.
  • Coach teams on executive engagement and client-value messaging.
  • Prioritize events to improve access and visibility, converting participation into opportunities.

Relevant Market-Segment Experience

  • Chemicals and manufacturing: Specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, and legacy sites.
  • Technology and advanced manufacturing: Semiconductor and clean technology investments.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Manufacturing and regulatory compliance.
  • Diversified industrials: Aerospace, consumer products, and logistics.

Leadership Attributes

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or related field.
  • 12 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership experience in environmental consulting with responsibility for growth.
  • Success in winning large, complex environmental engagements.
  • Established relationships with senior decision-makers in priority segments.
  • Strong commercial judgment and ability to influence teams across a matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel 30-40 %.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or relevant professional credentials (e.g., PE, PG).
  • Experience selling integrated environmental solutions.
  • Proven track record in market building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Familiarity with industrial capital cycles and operational risk.
