Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically-minded Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of cost management and commercial control on construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring financial certainty, contractual compliance, and value optimization throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Cost Management & Budget Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust cost management procedures, systems, and governance frameworks aligned with industry best practices and contractual requirements.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize financial performance.
- Prepare and review cost plans, schedules of rates, and bills of quantities to support pre-tender estimates and accurate budget development.
- Conduct regular cost analysis and variance reporting, providing transparent and timely financial updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
- Commercial Management & Contract Administration
- Lead the management of variations, change control processes, and contractual modifications, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions.
- Review and approve monthly valuations, cost reports, and variation assessments across project work packages.
- Assess and resolve contractor claims, disputes, and commercial negotiations with professionalism and transparency.
- Provide specialist commercial advice relating to construction contracts, including claims management, dispute resolution, and contractual entitlements.
- Establish clear escalation pathways for commercial and cost-related matters, ensuring decisive resolution of issues.
- Financial Forecasting & Reporting
- Develop and maintain monthly cashflow forecasts and cost reports, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all project phases.
- Review forecast final costs and cost reports prepared by the wider cost management team, validating data integrity and financial accuracy.
- Support final account negotiations and commercial close-out activities, ensuring successful financial completion of projects.
Qualifications
- Degree Qualified: Bachelor's degree (BSc) or Master's degree (MSc) in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, or related field.
