AECOM is actively seeking a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join our expanding Vertical Transportation team.
Working as part of a team of specialists. The role will involve design, develop, and review drawings and submittals on modernisation, new installation and maintenance on a full range of Vertical Transportation consultancy services (elevators, escalators, and moving walkways). You will adapt and modify design features and operational methods to meet a variety of situations.

Here’s what you’ll do:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Develop vertical transportation design concepts, calculate the number, size and speed of lifts for all types of buildings, including high-rise.
- Undertaking lift traffic analysis, ideally utilising Elevate®
- Producing reports, including conceptual design, scheme design and preparation of reports at key RIBA design stages of projects
- Overseeing production of drawings and specifications for vertical transportation projects
- Provide VT engineering expertise on single and multi-disciplinary projects & coordination with engineers of other disciplines.
- Inspecting installations and witness testing on site
- Supporting the wider activities of the Vertical Transportation team
- Undertake site surveys and produce resultant reports.
- Attend design team and client meetings as required.
- Understand and implement the company's Safety, Health, and Environment Policy.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Requirements:
- Ideally NVQ4, HNC or equivalent, Lift or appropriate engineering qualification.
- Extensive vertical transportation experience and preferably come from a lift contracting or consulting background.
- A strong analytical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles
- A desire to work constructively in a team, finding holistic building design solutions in a multidisciplinary environment
- Advanced knowledge and experience in utilizing design software including passenger traffic analysis software (ELEVATE) CADD, BIM, Revit, Word, Excel and Outlook
