Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Monitoring

  • Lead overall PMC functions for the Pooling Substation (PSS) and EHV Transmission Line package.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules, milestones, and contractual commitments.
  • Review project execution plans, construction methodologies, resource deployment, and recovery plans.
  • Track project deliverables, identify risks and bottlenecks, and ensure timely escalation of critical issues.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary PMC interface between the client, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders.
  • Conduct review meetings, prepare progress reports, and provide regular updates to the client.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment among all stakeholders for smooth project execution.

Contractor Coordination & Interface Management

  • Coordinate with EPC contractors, transmission line agencies, substation contractors, and utility representatives.
  • Manage interfaces between substation, transmission system, and associated infrastructure packages.
  • Resolve execution challenges through proactive coordination and issue management.

Quality Assurance & HSE Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor implementation of quality assurance and quality control procedures at site.
  • Drive adherence to HSE policies, safety standards, and statutory requirements across all project activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and support incident prevention initiatives.

Progress Tracking & Reporting

  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Monitor key project performance indicators and recommend corrective actions when required.
  • Maintain project dashboards and provide management-level reporting on project status.

Commissioning & Project Close-Out

  • Support testing, commissioning, and energization activities of the Pooling Substation and Transmission Line systems.
  • Ensure readiness of project documentation, punch point closure, and statutory approvals.
  • Lead Handover & Takeover (HOTO) activities and facilitate smooth project closure.

Preferred Project Experience

  • Renewable Energy Parks, Green Energy Corridors, Transmission Infrastructure Projects, Pooling Substations, GIS/AIS Substations, and EHV Transmission Line Projects (220kV/400kV/765kV and above).

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in transmission and substation projects, with significant exposure to EHV/UHV systems.
  • Proven experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC), Owner's Engineer, or EPC project management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission line construction, pooling substations, testing & commissioning, and project controls.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders on large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy evacuation projects.

Additional Information

  • Experience with HVDC converter stations and transmission systems.
  • Experience in GIS substations, power transformers, shunt reactors and protection systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, telecommunications and grid integration systems.
  • Experience working as PMC, Owner's Engineer, Engineer's Representative or EPC Project Manager.
  • PMP, PMI, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project and project reporting tools
