Job Description
We are hiring a GIS Team Lead to elevate the impact of spatial across major Perth infrastructure and consulting projects. You will lead a high-performing team, shape our GIS strategy and bidding approach, and transition spatial from service provider to trusted digital advisor — integrating GIS, CAD, and BIM to drive better decisions and project outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Lead our Perth GIS team: coach, allocate workload, set priorities, and foster a high-performance, inclusive culture.
- Implement regional initiatives and our business line GIS strategy in partnership with national counterparts.
- Shape and steer GIS bidding strategy to improve efficiency, consistency, and win rates; support business development.
- Develop 3D geospatial environments for decision support and collaboration on complex, multidisciplinary designs.
- Integrate GIS, CAD, and BIM using automated tools (FME, Python), and explore AI-enabled spatial intelligence where it fits.
- Coordinate with Digital Delivery, Information Management, BIM, CAD, and platform leads to enable reliable data sources, structured outputs, and interoperable workflows (e.g., Revizto, ProjectWise, ACC, 12d Synergy).
- Lead project GIS functions to align automation, reporting, and data workflows with scope, standards, and client expectations.
- Deploy and support field data capture (Field Maps, Survey123, Experience Builder) in connected and offline environments.
- Manage GIS projects end-to-end to deliver on time, on budget, and to the required quality.
- Uphold robust data governance, QA/QC, and assurance across spatial and aspatial information; review completed work.
- Stay current with GIS industry practices and software and share knowledge across our teams.
Qualifications
- Deep ESRI expertise: Desktop, Enterprise (Portal/Server), and ArcGIS Online.
- Proven deployment of Field Maps, Survey123, and Experience Builder (online/offline).
- Strong spatial data management, analysis, cartography, and data visualization skills.
- Hands-on automation skills using FME and Python; appetite to trial AI-enabled spatial intelligence where valuable.
- Ability to translate complex spatial concepts for non-spatial stakeholders; excellent written and visual storytelling.
- Experience in engineering, state government, or council highly regarded; exposure to environmental, planning, and infrastructure concepts is a plus.
- Growth and BD mindset with attention to detail, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ideally you will have tertiary qualifications in GIS, Spatial Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
