At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office.
Here’s what you’ll do:
AECOM is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office. This role will focus on the delivery of complex and high-profile projects across the residential, healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors. The successful candidate will contribute to technical excellence, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support the development of our structural engineering practice in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to the structural design and delivery of multidisciplinary projects from concept through to completion.
- Provide technical input and ensure compliance with relevant Eurocodes, Irish Building Regulations, and industry standards.
- Coordinate structural design activities, resources, and programme requirements to support successful project delivery.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and other project partners as part of project delivery.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Contribute to innovative and sustainable design solutions across a range of project types.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and encouraging professional development.
- Contribute to business development activities, including input to bids, proposals, and client presentations.
- Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop coordinated and integrated design solutions.
- Take responsibility for delivering high-quality technical work and identifying opportunities to improve project outcomes and efficiency.
Sector Focus:
- Residential: High-density housing, mixed-use developments, and urban regeneration projects.
- Healthcare: Hospitals, primary care centres, and specialist medical facilities requiring complex structural solutions.
- Education: Schools, universities, and research facilities with a focus on flexible and sustainable design.
- Infrastructure: Transport, utilities, and public realm projects supporting Ireland’s growing infrastructure needs.
Qualifications
Here’s what we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will have relevant experience in structural engineering within the Irish market, together with the following qualifications and experience:
Education:
- Honours Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- A Master’s degree (Level 9) in Structural or Civil Engineering would be advantageous.
Chartership:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable.
- Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE) is advantageous.
- Candidates working towards professional chartership with relevant experience will also be considered.
