Job Description
Start Here. Grow Here.
At AECOM, we are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Dublin office and support the successful delivery of complex capital projects across a range of sectors.
The Opportunity
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle, supporting projects from early-stage concept and design development through procurement, construction, commissioning, and completion. You will work closely with experienced project managers, clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the management and delivery of projects from inception through to completion, including design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
- Working alongside Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver capital projects across both live operational environments and new-build developments.
- Supporting day-to-day client relationships and acting as a key point of contact, ensuring technical, operational, commercial, and programme requirements are clearly understood and effectively addressed.
- Contributing to project management commissions, with responsibility for supporting quality, programme, cost, change, risk, and stakeholder management.
- Coordinating and monitoring project activities across moderately complex and critical projects, ensuring delivery remains aligned with agreed milestones, project requirements, and operational constraints.
- Assisting with the preparation and management of project programmes, budgets, risk registers, reports, meeting records, and other project controls.
- Supporting procurement and contract administration activities, working with project teams and supply-chain partners to facilitate effective project delivery.
- Contributing to the ongoing performance and continuous improvement of the project management team by sharing knowledge, developing best practices, and supporting efficient delivery methodologies.
- Building practical experience across RIBA Stages 0–7, with particular emphasis on project coordination, procurement, construction delivery, commissioning, and handover.
- Developing strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders while contributing to a collaborative, professional, and high-performing project environment.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
The successful candidate will have experience within the buildings sector and a strong interest in developing their career in project management. At Assistant Project Manager level, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
- A relevant graduate qualification in Project Management, Construction, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Practical experience supporting the delivery of building or capital projects, ideally across design, procurement, construction, and commissioning stages.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple project activities and work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- An understanding of project controls, including programme, cost, risk, quality, change, and stakeholder management.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a willingness to take responsibility and develop professionally within a project management environment.
- APM membership or affiliation would be advantageous.
