Job Description
Work Location : HKUST, Clear Water Bay, Hong Kong
Contract Period: up to August 2028 subject to review
Working: 5.5 days per week
Duties: The duties of the Resident Works Supervisor (Building) shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Responsible on site to the Contract Administrator / Project Architect / Project Civil – Structural Engineer / Resident Engineer
- Provide day-to day supervision of workmanship and progress;
- Assist in the supervision of contract works including routine inspections, material checks, checking of setting out and leveling by contractors;
- Assist in the supervision of mixing, placing and curing of concrete;
- Assist in the supervision of the making of concrete cubes and the cutting of steel bars by the contractors for subsequent testing.
- Monitor site resources and daily activities.
- Assist in the recording of labour, materials and plant delivered to site for compilation of site records;
- Escort the delivery of concrete cubes and other building materials to laboratories for testing as instructed;
- Keep approval samples in lockable storage and check against the materials delivered to site;
- Witness all site tests
- Support documentation of works, measurements and defects; and
- Carry out all such other duties as directed by the Contract Administrator / Project Architect / Project Civil – Structural Engineer / Resident Engineer.
Qualifications
The minimum qualifications required for the post of Resident Works Supervisor (Building) shall be as follows:
- A Certificate in Construction or Building Studies from a Hong Kong polytechnic
university/polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or a technical institute/technical college, or equivalent; - At least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience;
- Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Eduction Examination (HKDSEE) or equivalent;
- Obtained the Certificate of Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card);
- Employment will be on a contract basis. The remuneration package will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualification and experience.
