Job Description

Position Overview:

Lead day-to-day PMC oversight of the BESS package from delivery and installation through system integration, commissioning, performance testing, and handover to operations. Ensure safe execution, schedule adherence, quality compliance, and readiness for energization and operational acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead site-based PMC oversight of all BESS package activities, coordinating interfaces between Client, EPC Contractors, OEMs, utilities, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor installation progress and readiness of battery containers, PCS, transformers, MV switchgear, auxiliary systems, HVAC, Fire Suppression Systems (FSS), and associated infrastructure.
  • Oversee integration activities involving EMS, BMS, SCADA, communication systems, renewable generation assets, and grid interfaces.
  • Review construction progress, schedule performance, quality compliance, HSE performance, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with approved designs, technical specifications, project procedures, and applicable industry standards.
  • Coordinate energization, commissioning, and integrated system testing activities across all technical disciplines.
  • Review warranty obligations, contractor performance, punch-list status, and readiness for performance testing and operational acceptance.
  • Identify, assess, and escalate project risks impacting safety, schedule, quality, performance, and commercial commitments.
  • Consolidate package-level recommendations, recovery plans, risk mitigation actions, and interface management requirements.
  • Support HOTO (Hand Overtake Over) activities and verify completion of documentation, testing records, training, and operational readiness requirements.
  • Prepare and present site progress, technical issues, risk status, and key decision requirements to the PMO BESS Lead and Client representatives.

Qualifications

Education Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Professional registration or project management certifications are advantageous.

Additional Information

Preferred Experience:

 

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation, transmission, renewable energy, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • Proven experience managing site delivery, construction oversight, commissioning, and operational handover of large-scale energy projects.
  • Experience coordinating OEMs, EPC Contractors, utilities, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies, PCS, EMS/BMS/SCADA systems, MV electrical systems, and grid integration requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project risks, stakeholder interfaces, site safety, quality assurance, and performance testing activities.
