  • Regulatory & Technical Oversight: Develop and implement integrated mine closure strategies that meet regulatory requirements (e.g., BLM, EPA/CERCLA, state mining agencies) and sustainability goals.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Direct teams across hydrogeology, geotechnical, environmental science, and remediation engineering to deliver constructible solutions.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the senior client-facing leader, managing communication with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to align on project objectives.
  • Business Development: Cultivate client relationships, lead capture efforts, and oversee proposal development to expand AECOM’s mine closure portfolio.
  • Risk & Financial Management: Oversee risk identification, mitigation, and project financials, including budgeting, forecasting/EAC, and change management.
  • Team Building & Mentorship: Mentor and coach project managers and technical staff, fostering a culture of excellence, risk-based decision-making, and continuous capability building.
  • Quality & Safety Leadership: Champion a “safety-first” culture, leveraging certifications such as 40-hr HAZWOPER and 10-hr Construction to drive proactive risk management.
  • Leadership Success Measures
  • Growth Targets: Build and maintain a robust project pipeline, enhance win rates, and expand strategic client accounts.
  • Delivery Targets: Achieve target margins, improve schedule predictability, strengthen risk management practices, and uphold a stringent safety culture.
  • Talent Targets: Develop succession plans, mentor project managers, and encourage professional development through certifications and hands-on project involvement.
