Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and promoting a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management framework across our organization. Your expertise will drive compliance with local UAE regulations and international best practices while fostering a proactive safety culture that empowers all team members. - Develop, implement, and maintain robust HSE policies, procedures, and management systems aligned with UAE regulations, international standards, and organizational objectives
- Conduct comprehensive site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-work systems to ensure full compliance with HSE requirements
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss events with thorough root cause analysis; prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures to prevent recurrence
- Deliver engaging HSE inductions, toolbox talks, training sessions, and awareness programs to foster a strong safety culture across all organizational levels
- Maintain accurate and organized HSE records, performance metrics, statistics, and compliance documentation for internal and regulatory reporting
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders on all HSE-related matters, ensuring transparent communication and shared accountability
- Develop and coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans, including conducting drills and coordinating with relevant authorities
- Monitor HSE performance indicators and trends; analyze data to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in safety practices
- Provide strategic HSE advisory support to project teams and management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and inclusivity where all team members feel empowered to contribute to safety excellence
Qualifications
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in HSE management, advisory roles, or similar positions within infrastructure, construction, engineering, or related industries
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related technical discipline
- Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), or equivalent internationally recognized qualification
- Comprehensive knowledge of international HSE standards and best practices (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.)
- Proven experience implementing and managing HSE systems on medium to large-scale projects or organizational operations
- Strong expertise in conducting risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigation with root cause analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, concise HSE reports and documentation
- Demonstrated ability to deliver effective training, presentations, and awareness sessions to diverse audiences
- Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination experience
- Proficiency in HSE software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Solid understanding of UAE labor laws, regulations, and local HSE requirements
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environments while maintaining independence and accountability
- Flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing priorities and organizational needs
- Preferred: Experience with rail, metro, or large infrastructure projects
- Preferred: Knowledge of emergency preparedness and business continuity planning
