Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Associate - Landscape Architect to join our dynamic design team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this senior design role, you will drive innovation and excellence in the design and delivery of landscape architecture projects while combining hands-on project leadership with team management, technical oversight, and meaningful client engagement. This position offers the opportunity to shape project outcomes, mentor emerging talent, and contribute to our studio's growth and reputation through thought leadership, quality assurance, and strategic business development.
- Lead and manage multiple landscape architecture projects from conception through delivery, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and project timelines while ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory requirements
- Conduct comprehensive site opportunity and constraint studies, present findings internally and externally, and develop innovative design proposals that reflect the studio's vision and the site's unique potential
- Mentor and support junior staff members by providing constructive feedback, conducting performance reviews, monitoring project progress, and fostering their technical and professional development
- Manage project budgets and track financial performance for assigned tasks, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective delivery without compromising design quality
- Lead client interface activities, manage contractual requirements, present design solutions professionally, and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Organize and facilitate design and creative review sessions for ongoing projects and competitions, promoting collaborative problem-solving and innovative thinking
- Develop and present market research outcomes and thought leadership presentations to the broader team, contributing to the studio's knowledge base and industry reputation
- Ensure all deliverables comply with landscape architecture standards, regulatory guidelines, and contractual scope of work, implementing thorough quality assurance procedures and self-checks
- Coordinate seamlessly with architecture, urban planning, and other disciplines to eliminate design gaps and deliver fully integrated design solutions
- Develop tailored design responses to project-specific conditions, creating new landscape architecture and building typologies applicable to diverse sites and contexts
- Promote and implement innovative digital tools and technologies in landscape architecture projects, engaging in research and development initiatives that advance the studio's capabilities
- Prepare, manage, and coordinate landscape architecture bids and proposals, tailoring technical approaches, methodologies, and delivery structures to meet project expectations and client needs
- Communicate landscape architecture ideas clearly through written reports, presentations, and visual narratives, guiding direct reports in effective technical writing and storytelling
- Implement safety in design standards and procedures, report on workplace safety concerns, and maintain awareness of incidents or near misses that may impact the team
- Participate in studio steering committees that promote integration, knowledge sharing, digital innovation, or diversity and inclusion initiatives
- Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and assisting in the creation of compelling bids and technical proposals
- Maintain and organize internal libraries, update landscape architecture capabilities statements, and document innovations in graphics and design processes for team-wide benefit
- Lead internal and external workshops, driving outcomes that benefit both projects and the studio's strategic objectives
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture design and project delivery
- Proven experience leading landscape architecture projects from design through implementation
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field from an accredited institution
- Professional registration or licensure as a Landscape Architect (or equivalent qualification recognized in the UAE)
