Job Description
The Opportunity
This is a newly created 12-month fixed-term contract sitting within AECOM's ANZ Clients & Marketing function, working in close partnership with Talent Acquisition, People & Culture, and our Communications and Creative teams.
This is a hands-on delivery role. You won't be writing strategy decks, you'll be producing content, building campaigns, and getting employer brand work out the door. You'll work within our existing brand, communications and content frameworks, learning how we operate so you can move fast without creating rework for the teams around you. The goal is someone who is enabled and self-sufficient, not someone who generates briefs for others to execute.
What You'll Own
- Own the strategy and hands-on delivery of employer brand content, recruitment marketing campaigns, and candidate communications.
- Develop and execute recruitment marketing campaigns across LinkedIn, our careers site, paid social, and emerging channels. You'll take these from brief through to copy, creative direction, scheduling, and performance reporting.
- Write and produce candidate-facing content including role advertising copy, employee stories, video scripts, event collateral, and careers site pages. You'll film and capture content yourself.
- Build a reusable content library from the stories we already have: new leaders, promotions, relocations, secondments, career pathways, and project wins. Turn these into assets that work across channels and outlast individual campaigns.
- Build and maintain a content calendar for always-on employer brand activity, not just reactive bursts tied to open requisitions.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition leads to diagnose hard-to-fill roles and build targeted attraction strategies by discipline, geography, or candidate persona.
- Shape and protect the employer brand — consistent narrative, tone of voice, and visual identity across every candidate touchpoint. This needs to align with our broader corporate brand while being distinct enough to cut through in a competitive talent market.
- Own our Glassdoor presence: build the response program, close the loop on reviews, and lift sentiment on the channels candidates check before they ever apply.
- Support EVP refresh work and give our Stretch RAP commitments the market-facing content they deserve.
- Manage candidate communications templates and touchpoints across the recruitment lifecycle — confirmation emails, rejection comms, offer letters — so the candidate experience is consistent.
- Advise hiring managers and senior leaders on how to show up credibly on LinkedIn and at industry events as part of a broader talent attraction effort, working with our Communications team to ensure alignment with our wider LinkedIn and executive visibility strategy.
- Monitor competitor employer branding and talent market trends to keep our EVP sharp and channel mix current.
- Collaborate closely with internal communications and marketing teams to connect employer brand activity with broader corporate campaigns and sector narratives. Much of what these teams produce can be leveraged for talent attraction — your job is to spot those opportunities and act on them, not duplicate the effort.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
You won't be refreshing a template or ticking a compliance box. You'll build a content library, a reputation program and an EVP refresh that keeps working long after your contract ends with the runway, budget and senior air cover to actually do it properly.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Proven experience in employer branding, talent marketing, content or corporate communications, agency or in-house, we care about the work not the letterhead.
- A storyteller's instinct: you can spot a good internal story and turn it into content people actually stop and read.
- Confident across channels, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, campaign content, thought leadership and comfortable working with data to prove what's working.
- Experience in (or genuine curiosity about) engineering, infrastructure, construction or a similarly technical, project-based industry.
Ready to Build Something That Outlasts a Campaign?
If you read the five workstreams above and thought "yes I know exactly how I'd do that," we want to hear from you. Send us your CV, a portfolio or a few examples of brand/content work you're proud of, and a short note on what you'd tackle first.
