Company Description

Your opportunity to work at the heart of AECOM's Advisory growth strategy.

What if your next career move gave you direct exposure to senior leadership, major clients, government relationships, strategic pursuits and the growth of a global advisory business?

AECOM is looking for a Strategic Engagement Integrator to work directly with our ANZ Advisory Sector Director, supporting strategic engagement across our Advisory business and helping connect our people, capabilities, clients and opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious early-career professional who wants to move beyond traditional advisory delivery and develop a career at the intersection of strategy, client engagement, business development and leadership.

You'll have a front-row seat to how a leading global professional services organisation identifies opportunities, develops client relationships, positions its capabilities and turns strategic conversations into growth.

This isn't simply a coordination role.

It's a development opportunity designed to accelerate your career.

Job Description

The opportunity

As Strategic Engagement Integrator, you'll work closely with the ANZ Advisory Sector Director, who also leads Government Relations, to support strategic client and industry engagement across AECOM's Advisory growth sectors and disciplines.

You'll become a critical connection point across the Advisory business bringing together market intelligence, client insights, pursuit activity and internal capability to ensure our leadership is well prepared and our opportunities are progressed effectively.

You'll help answer questions such as:

What are our clients thinking about?

Where is the market heading?

What opportunities should AECOM be shaping now?

Which of our capabilities can solve our clients' biggest challenges?

How do we ensure the right people are in the room at the right time?

This role will give you exposure to the full strategic growth cycle from market intelligence and client preparation through to strategic engagement, pursuit development and opportunity conversion.

For someone with 2–3 years' experience who is curious, commercially minded and ambitious to build a career in Advisory, this is a rare opportunity to learn directly from senior leaders and develop a broad understanding of how a major advisory business operates.

What you'll do

Support strategic client engagement

  • Work directly with the ANZ Advisory Sector Director to prepare for strategic client, government and industry engagements.
  • Develop client profiles, briefing materials, meeting packs and executive presentations.
  • Research organisations, markets, industries and key stakeholders to provide relevant insights ahead of important conversations.
  • Capture key outcomes, actions and opportunities from client and industry meetings and ensure disciplined follow-through.
  • Help coordinate senior stakeholder engagement across AECOM's Advisory business.

Connect the dots across the business

  • Build a strong understanding of AECOM's Advisory sectors, disciplines and capabilities.
  • Connect people and expertise across business lines to support client opportunities.
  • Identify where different AECOM capabilities can be brought together to create stronger client propositions.
  • Help ensure strategic priorities are communicated consistently across the Advisory business.
  • Develop strong internal relationships across technical, commercial and leadership teams.

Turn market intelligence into opportunity

  • Monitor market trends, government priorities, infrastructure investment, client strategies and emerging opportunities.
  • Identify common themes across pursuits, clients and markets.
  • Translate market intelligence into practical insights and recommendations for leadership.
  • Help identify emerging opportunities where AECOM can engage early and add value.
  • Contribute to market and account planning activities.

Support growth and pursuits

  • Support the development of pursuit strategies and opportunity plans.
  • Coordinate inputs from different business lines to ensure proposals and presentations are aligned and compelling.
  • Help develop strategic messaging and client propositions.
  • Track strategic opportunities and actions to ensure momentum is maintained.
  • Support leadership in preparing for important client and industry conversations.

Develop executive-quality communications

  • Prepare high-quality presentations, briefing papers, market updates and strategic communications.
  • Turn complex information into clear, concise and compelling messages.
  • Develop materials that enable senior leaders to quickly understand the key issue, opportunity and recommended action.
  • Continuously improve the quality and consistency of strategic communications across Advisory.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who is curious, organised, commercially aware and eager to learn.

You don't need to have all the answers. What matters is your ability to ask great questions, connect information, build relationships and turn insight into action.

You will ideally bring:

  • Approximately 2–3 years' professional experience in consulting, advisory, professional services, infrastructure, government, strategy, business development, project management or a related environment.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to create high-quality presentations and executive briefing materials.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and the maturity to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • A genuine interest in infrastructure, cities, government, business strategy and the issues shaping Australia and New Zealand.
  • The ability to build relationships across different teams and bring people together.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to follow-through.
  • Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding why clients buy, how opportunities are created and how businesses grow.

Above all, we're looking for someone with drive and potential.

Someone who sees a complex problem and wants to understand it.

Someone who enjoys connecting people and ideas.

Someone who wants to learn how senior leaders think.

And someone who wants their career to move quickly.
