Job Description

Job Purpose

Supervise civil and structural works for substations and HVDC terminal stations, including deep foundations, converter halls, control buildings, trenches, equipment foundations and gantry structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review approved civil and structural drawings, specifications, method statements and ITPs.
  • Verify site grading, excavation, filling, compaction and soil-improvement works.
  • Supervise pile, raft, isolated, machine and equipment foundations.
  • Monitor converter hall, valve hall, control building, relay room and auxiliary-building construction.
  • Inspect reinforcement, formwork, embedded items, anchor bolts, inserts and concrete works.
  • Verify equipment foundations for GIS, transformers, reactors, filters, switchgear and auxiliary systems.
  • Supervise cable trenches, culverts, drains, oil pits, firewalls, bunds and water-retaining structures.
  • Monitor structural-steel fabrication and erection for buildings, gantries, bus supports and equipment structures.
  • Check stub-setting, gantry alignment, levels, plumbness and bolt tightening.
  • Monitor internal roads, drainage, boundary wall, landscaping and site-development works.
  • Coordinate civil interfaces with electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire-protection and cable-routing requirements.
  • Review concrete test results, material certificates, survey records and structural-inspection reports.
  • Identify deviations and initiate RFIs, observations or NCRs.
  • Verify as-built dimensions, levels and completion records.
  • Support punch-list close-out and civil handover.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of civil-construction experience.
  • Experience in EHV substation, industrial building or major infrastructure works.
  • Knowledge of piling, reinforced concrete, structural steel, buildings, roads and drainage
