Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Urban Planner. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional seeking to build experience across urban planning, urban design, master planning, and public realm projects.
The role contributes to planning strategies, land-use frameworks and urban development guidelines, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create sustainable and implementable urban solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of urban design concepts, master plans, and planning studies.
- Support the development of reports, design statements, planning applications, and client presentations.
- Prepare graphics, diagrams, maps, and presentation materials.
- Support stakeholder engagement activities.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of urban planning, master planning and territorial development projects.
- Conduct urban analysis, benchmarking studies, site assessments and spatial evaluations.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support the delivery of high-quality project outcomes.
Qualifications
Education
- Master's Degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Geography, Regional Planning or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3 years of professional experience in urban planning, master planning or urban development projects.
- Experience preparing planning reports, development frameworks and strategic planning studies.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary and international project is an asset.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of urban planning principles, land-use planning and development processes.
- Knowledge of urban analysis methodologies and planning strategies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and Microsoft Office.
- GIS knowledge is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Revit and 3D visualization software is considered an asset.
- Strong graphic communication and presentation skills.
