The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, engineering calculations, coordination drawings, and technical proposals for compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate mechanical interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical, ICT, fire alarm, BMS, and other building systems to ensure seamless integration.
  • Monitor site installation activities to ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
  • Review and resolve Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, design clarifications, coordination issues, and clash detection reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and testing & commissioning teams to facilitate the successful execution of mechanical works.
  • Track the progress of mechanical submittals, procurement, material deliveries, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover documentation.
  • Attend technical coordination meetings, design workshops, site inspections, and project progress meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain mechanical action logs, issue trackers, snag lists, inspection records, and testing & commissioning schedules.
  • Ensure mechanical installations are coordinated with fit-out activities, ceiling closures, access requirements, inspection readiness, and project handover milestones.
  • Identify project risks, delays, constraints, and interface issues affecting mechanical works and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Support project close-out activities, including preparation and review of O&M manuals, as-built drawings, testing & commissioning records, training documentation, and final handover submissions.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality management requirements throughout project execution.

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, MEP coordination, or construction supervision on large-scale building, infrastructure, or transportation projects.
  • Proven experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, chilled water, smoke control, and building services systems.
