Job Description

Position Overview

The HR Business Partner will support the delivery of HR strategies and day‑to‑day people initiatives for assigned business lines within AECOM India. The role will work closely with business leaders, HRBPs, HR Operations, and HR Centers of Excellence to implement people programs aligned with business priorities and AECOM’s global people agenda. The position will contribute to employee engagement initiatives, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness through hands‑on partnership and data‑informed insights.

Key Responsibilities

 

 

HR Partnership & Advisory Support

 

  • Partner with managers and leaders to support organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, Employee Engagement, and talent initiatives within assigned business line.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on people matters using HR data, policies, and best practices.
  • Support leadership capability, succession planning activities, and development initiatives in collaboration with senior HRBPs.
  • Act as a point of contact for managers on employee lifecycle topics, ensuring a positive and consistent employee experience.

 

Employee Engagement & Experience

 

  • Contribute to the execution of the AECOM India Employee Engagement Plan across assigned business lines.
  • Work with HRBPs, business leaders, and HR functions to implement engagement actions tailored to team and workforce needs.
  • Support engagement, pulse surveys, and employee listening activities, helping translate insights into practical actions.
  • Partner with HR Operations, Talent Management, and Employee Experience teams to deliver programs related to retention, manager effectiveness, hybrid work, inclusion, and wellbeing.
  • Track engagement actions and outcomes and provide input on improvement opportunities.

 

Operational HR & Case Support

 

  • Manage employee relations matters, performance management, and sensitive employee situations, escalating as appropriate.
  • Partner with COEs (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management, HR Operations) to support integrated HR solutions.
  • Support hiring plans, onboarding, workforce ramp‑ups, and capability requirements in coordination with TA and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to enterprise initiatives such as Early Career Talent programs, leadership development, ED&I, and wellbeing activities.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration

 

  • Build effective working relationships with business leaders, managers, and HR colleagues to support business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal HR networks and project teams to support broader people initiatives.
  • Support employer brand and talent initiatives through participation in relevant internal or external activities, as required.

 

 

Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within large, matrixed organizations or engineering/consulting environments.
  • Experience in HR business partnering with exposure to employee engagement initiatives and people program delivery.
