Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced, innovative and forward-thinking Senior Mechanical Engineering Discipline Lead / Engineering Manager to help grow and lead our building engineering practice in Boston. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on building high-performing teams across disciplines, shaping strategy, and making a real impact.

What You’ll Do:
- Lead and grow AECOM's building engineering practice in Boston, balancing technical excellence, team development, client service, and business performance.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to expand local MEP capabilities and build an integrated, multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Drive major project pursuits — both stand-alone MEP/FP work and as part of larger multi-discipline teams.
- Act as technical leader and quality reviewer across a range of project sizes and complexities., creating an environment where talented engineers can do their best work.
- Serve as design manager on complex projects with significant engineering scope, working closely with project managers to deliver high quality documents.
- Lead interdisciplinary coordination/quality reviews and ensure engineering standards are met.
- Coach, mentor and develop engineers at all career stages, helping them achieve technical, professional, and leadership goals.
- Manage forecasting, resource planning, and staff performance, including goal-setting and annual reviews for mechanical department. Assist the electrical department manager to do the same.
- Represent AECOM to clients, participate in interviews, and help craft winning proposals.
- Provide technical vision and thought leadership for mechanical engineering across the Boston practice.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience on multi-disciplinary projects.
- 2+ years of HVAC or mechanical team leadership experience.
- PE license in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to obtain licensure in additional U.S. states.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience including at least two in a leadership role.
- Affinity for client service and business development.
- Proven ability to build positive working relationships and lead through influence and inclusivity.
- Experience with aviation, transportation and/or federal sector projects.
- Strong background in sustainable and high-performance building design.
- Familiarity with central utility plant systems.
