Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated LV / ELV Electrical Engineer to join our growing team of professionals. This role is integral to the design, analysis, and implementation of low voltage power distribution and extra-low-voltage systems for industrial facilities and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in LV installations, industrial electrical systems, and ELV systems integration, with working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and is passionate about delivering high-quality, reliable, and efficient electrical system designs for real-world industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design & Engineering:
- Design and layout of low voltage (LV) power distribution systems for industrial facilities, process plants, and infrastructure buildings.
- Planning, design, and coordination of ELV systems — including telecommunications, structured cabling, fire alarm, CCTV, access control, public address, and associated control/monitoring systems — for industrial developments and utility support buildings.
- Prepare one-line diagrams, wiring schematics, grounding systems, panel schedules, and conduit/cable routing.
- Develop electrical installation drawings for LV switchrooms, motor control centres (MCCs), transformers, distribution boards, control panels, and ELV system cabinets.
- Support lighting, emergency power, small power, fire detection, and other auxiliary systems.
LV & ELV Systems Expertise:
- Design and support implementation of LV distribution networks, including switchboards, MCCs, transformers, UPS systems, distribution boards, and LV cabling systems for industrial applications.
- Design and coordinate ELV systems such as fire alarm, CCTV, access control, public address, telecom, and data networks in line with project and operational requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, operators, vendors, and relevant authorities to ensure compliance with project standards and interface requirements.
- Review LV installation practices, protective device coordination, grounding arrangements, and electrical safety compliance.
- Support the integration of ELV systems with industrial facilities and plant infrastructure, ensuring compatibility with operational and safety requirements.
3D Modeling & BIM Coordination:
- Create and manage 3D BIM models using Revit, integrating LV and ELV designs into multidisciplinary plant and building layouts.
- Use AutoCAD Plant 3D to model industrial electrical layouts in coordination with piping, mechanical, and process systems.
- Participate in clash detection processes and model coordination sessions using BIM platforms (e.g., BIM 360, ACC).
Technical Deliverables & Documentation:
- Perform load calculations, voltage drop analysis, short circuit studies, cable sizing, and equipment selection for LV systems.
- Generate technical specifications, bill of materials, and construction documentation in compliance with IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, and project-specific standards.
- Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and client-facing documents.
- Develop layouts, schematics, system architecture drawings, and equipment schedules for ELV systems.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Quality Assurance:
- Coordinate LV and ELV design with mechanical, civil, process, instrumentation, and architectural disciplines.
- Participate in design reviews to ensure integration, operability, and constructability.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, models, and documentation to uphold design standards and client requirements.
Project Execution Support:
- Provide engineering support during construction, including site visits, RFIs, and submittal reviews.
- Assist in commissioning, testing protocols, systems integration checks, and as-built documentation development.
- Contribute to project scheduling and budgeting for engineering scopes.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience in electrical design for LV power distribution and ELV systems in industrial, infrastructure, or building projects.
- Experience in LV distribution systems, industrial electrical installations, and ELV systems such as fire alarm, CCTV, access control, telecom, and structured cabling.
- Familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD, MicroStation, and electrical calculation tools.
- Strong command of IEC/IEEE/ANSI/NFPA standards.
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Preferred:
- Working proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD Plant 3D for 3D modeling and plant layout integration.
- Site experience, including field engineering, construction supervision, commissioning support, or systems testing.
- Exposure to industrial communication systems, integrated security systems, and plant utility buildings.
- Experience with Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as BIM 360, ACC.
- Familiarity with clash detection software and integrated project delivery workflows.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification and electrical safety standards.
