Company Description

Come grow with us.

AECOM’s national Environment structure is creating exciting opportunities to grow our Ecology practice across NSW. As we continue to expand, we’re inviting Expressions of Interest from ecology professionals across Sydney and Newcastle, from Professional through to Director level. Whether you’re building your technical career, stepping into leadership, or already recognised as a market leader, we’d love to connect.

AECOM’s Environment business helps industries, clients and governments meet environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. Across transport, energy, Defence and water sectors, our teams work on projects that preserve biodiversity, improve environmental outcomes and create lasting community value.

AECOM's environmental practice is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural environment. We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts, and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.

“Being part of a dedicated Environment business within AECOM gives us the opportunity to work on the projects that mean the most to us. Some of my highlights have included monitoring green and golden bell frog populations, helping to design safe fauna crossings and working to protect and improve threatened ecological communities across the state. Doing this and being able to contribute to major infrastructure projects along the way that benefit me and my community genuinely gets me out of bed in the morning.” Jamie McMahon, Technical Director – Environment
