Job Description

Position Summary

 

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Signage & Wayfinding Designer to develop integrated environmental graphic and wayfinding systems for mixed-use developments, townships, commercial, hospitality, retail, public realm, and institutional projects. The designer will be responsible for translating branding, architecture, and user experience strategies into clear, functional, and visually compelling signage solutions.

This role requires a strong understanding of spatial navigation, environmental graphics, user behavior, typography, materials, and fabrication methods, with the ability to collaborate closely with architects, landscape architects, interior designers, developers, and fabricators.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Design & Planning

 

  • Develop comprehensive signage and wayfinding strategies for large-scale developments and built environments.
  • Produce concept designs, signage families, and environmental graphic systems aligned with project branding and architectural intent.
  • Prepare sign location plans, message schedules, and wayfinding hierarchies.
  • Design directional, identification, regulatory, interpretive, digital, and landmark signage systems.
  • Coordinate signage integration with architecture, landscape, lighting, and interior design elements.

 

Documentation

  • Prepare design presentations, mood boards, and client presentation materials.
  • Produce detailed design drawings including:
    • Signage layouts
    • Elevations and sections
    • Material specifications
    • Typography standards
    • Artwork files
    • Fabrication details
  • Develop tender and construction documentation packages.

 

Coordination & Project Management

 

  • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and signage fabricators throughout project stages.
  • Coordinate with authorities and ensure compliance with local regulations, accessibility standards, and safety requirements.
  • Attend design workshops, coordination meetings, and site inspections.
  • Review shop drawings, prototypes, and mock-ups during fabrication stages.

Site & Construction Administration

 

  • Conduct site surveys and wayfinding audits.
  • Monitor fabrication quality and installation progress.
  • Ensure final signage implementation aligns with approved design intent and specifications.

 

 

    Qualifications

    **Education**

    • Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design, Environmental Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related design discipline

    **Experience**

    • 2–8 years of experience in wayfinding, signage, environmental graphics, or related design fields
    • Experience with mixed-use, hospitality, retail, healthcare, or public realm projects is preferred

    **Software Skills**

    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), AutoCAD, and 3D software (SketchUp or Rhino)
    • Competency in Microsoft Office and large-format artwork preparation

    **Technical Skills**

    • Strong conceptual, visual communication, and presentation abilities
    • Demonstrated expertise in typography, information hierarchy, user experience, and spatial navigation
    • Knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, accessibility standards, and code compliance
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
    • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
