Job Description
AECOM is seeking a college intern to support the design, development, and testing of an AI Agent used to enhance business operations, engineering workflows, and decision‑making across the organization. This role offers hands‑on exposure to applied artificial intelligence within a global enterprise environment.
The intern will collaborate with technologists, data scientists, and business stakeholders to help build and refine AI‑powered solutions, gaining real‑world experience at the intersection of AI, data, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, configuration, and testing of AI agents, including prompt engineering and workflow design
- Support integration of the AI agent with internal tools, data sources, and systems
- Perform data preparation, validation, and basic analysis to support AI model outputs
- Document AI agent functionality, use cases, and best practices
- Participate in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and accuracy evaluation
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, IT, digital strategy, and business users)
- Stay informed on emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and ethical AI practices
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Finance & Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field with 2 years of study completed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or projects involving AI agents, NLP, or generative AI, Finance and Financial Models, Data Management and Data Mining
- Experience with tools such as Azure OpenAI, LangChain, Power Platform, or similar frameworks
- Exposure to data visualization, automation, or workflow tools
- Interest in applying AI to real‑world engineering, infrastructure, or enterprise use cases
- Basic understanding of AI, machine learning, or large language models (LLMs)
- Familiarity with Python, APIs, or similar programming/scripting tools
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
