At AECOM, we are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our Dublin office.
The Project Manager will act as the Contracting Entity’s representative, with full responsibility for managing the project from initial planning and design through to successful completion and commissioning. The role is accountable for delivering the project on time, within budget, and to the required specifications, ensuring all objectives are achieved in line with the Contracting Entity’s employer’s requirements and the overall strategic goals of the portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Programme Requirements, Standards & Performance
- Oversee and monitor project delivery across schedule, interfaces, cost, variations, contracts, and risk, liaising with relevant team members and functions as required.
- Develop and maintain the Project Execution Plan, ensuring alignment with the Contracting Entity’s standards, methodologies, and delivery objectives.
- Build and manage an effective working relationship with the Airport Transformation Manager.
Project Management Activities
- Lead project coordination, ensuring all interfaces are identified and managed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain and update the RACI (Responsible / Accountable / Consulted / Informed) matrix.
- Coordinate with technical teams to manage design consultants and external service providers.
- Chair design review meetings and communicate design approvals to the Contractor.
- Ensure timely communication of design changes to all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide monthly reporting on project progress across all phases, including construction.
- Maintain and regularly update the project risk register, including review at monthly progress meetings.
- Identify and drive improvements in project management processes, templates, and deliverables, escalating ideas where appropriate.
- Apply performance management techniques to monitor and improve delivery outcomes.
- Manage the change control process effectively.
- Oversee the flow of project information between the team and client through structured meetings and reporting.
NEC-Specific Activities
- Review and accept contractor programme submissions.
- Act in the spirit of mutual trust and cooperation, as required under the NEC contract.
- Issue communications and documentation in accordance with the Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) and fulfil all contractual obligations.
- Perform the duties of Project Manager under the Contracting Entity’s contract, maintaining close alignment with client objectives.
- Manage the compensation event process to ensure fair and timely assessment of Contracting Entity–initiated changes.
- Ensure contractors notify compensation events promptly to protect the Contracting Entity’s position.
- Assess and certify payments at each assessment interval.
Qualifications

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in our primary infrastructure markets.
As the successful candidate, you will bring the following qualifications and experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction/infrastructure, including aviation or similarly complex projects.
- Strong understanding of working within a live airport environment, with hands-on site experience.
- Proven ability to deliver construction or asset projects on time and within budget.
- Experience operating as a client-side Project Manager, with a track record of managing diverse stakeholders and influencing improved delivery practices.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing best practice project management policies and standards.
Key Skills:
- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to drive governance and ensure delivery to required standards
- Working knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts
- Solid understanding of engineering and project management principles
- Proficient in planning and scheduling, including Oracle Primavera P6
- Experience implementing policies and procedures
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving capability
- Report writing and general computer literacy
