Job Description
As the Cost Management Civil Infrastructure Lead for NZ you will provide strategic leadership and technical direction across our national cost management civil infrastructure portfolio. You will lead the delivery of complex cost management services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
This is a senior level role that you can truly make your own, offering the opportunity to shape strategy, bring innovative thinking (including the use of AI and emerging technologies), and influence how cost management is delivered into the future.
This is a national role, connected across the business regardless of where you are based, and can be located in Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington or Hamilton.
You will play a key role in driving business growth, strengthening client relationships, and developing high-performing teams across New Zealand. This includes leading major pursuits, supporting capture planning, and positioning the business for long-term success across key infrastructure sectors.
- Lead cost management services across major civil infrastructure projects, acting as Project Director or senior commercial lead.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring high-quality outcomes across multidisciplinary projects.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor, identifying opportunities for repeat and new business.
- Drive project delivery excellence, including commercial performance, risk management, and governance.
- Lead and contribute to business development, including proposals, client presentations, and cross-selling opportunities.
- Gain the opportunity to mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing national team.
- Contribute to strategic planning and growth initiatives for the Cost Management business.
Qualifications
The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a great fit—please apply.
You will be a senior cost management professional with strong leadership capability, commercial acumen, and a proven ability to deliver complex infrastructure projects.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- 15+ years’ experience in cost management, ideally within civil infrastructure.
- Chartered or professional membership (e.g. NZIQS, RICS or similar).
- Experience with PPP contracts would be highly regarded.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
- Proven commercial and financial management capability, delivering results within timeframes and budgets.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
