Job Description

AECOM India is seeking an experienced Wastewater Expert to lead the design, review, and technical evaluation of wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems. The role involves providing technical leadership across wastewater projects, ensuring environmentally compliant, sustainable, and efficient solutions through close coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design and review of wastewater treatment plants (STPs), sewer networks, and pumping stations.
  • Select, evaluate, and review treatment processes, hydraulic performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Review process designs, layouts, calculations, and technical reports to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental norms, discharge standards, and applicable national and international guidelines.
  • Conduct technical evaluation of proposals, DPRs, and detailed engineering designs.
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation teams to deliver integrated wastewater solutions.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and performance review stages as required.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or Public Health Engineering (or related discipline).

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in the design and implementation of wastewater systems.
  • Proven expertise in:
    • Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs)
    • Sludge treatment and management
    • Sewer network planning and design
    • Pumping stations and conveyance systems
  • Experience working in consulting or multidisciplinary project environments is preferred.

Additional Information

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in relevant design and engineering tools, including:
    • AutoCAD
    • Civil 3D
    • GIS
  • Strong working knowledge of industry standards, environmental regulations, and wastewater design codes.
  • Ability to review and interpret engineering drawings, hydraulic calculations, technical specifications, and reports.
