AECOM’s Highways team in Brisbane is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Senior Civil Designer to help deliver some of Queensland’s most important transport infrastructure projects.

With a strong pipeline of work across TMR and major local government clients, this is a role where you’ll step into real design leadership, take ownership of complex packages, and play a key role in shaping how projects are delivered.

How you’ll make a difference

• Lead the geometric design of highways, arterial roads and intersections using 12d

• Deliver high-quality design aligned with TMR RPDM and Austroads standards

• Own complex design packages including:

  • Horizontal and vertical geometry

  • Cross sections and corridor modelling

  • Superelevation and drainage interfaces

• Act as a design lead on major TMR projects, coordinating inputs across multidisciplinary teams

• Mentor and support designers and junior engineers, building capability across the team

• Contribute to innovation in digital engineering, modelling and automation

The qualities that help you thrive 

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered

• 8–10+ years’ experience in civil design, ideally within highways or transport infrastructure

• Strong capability in 12d and AutoCAD (essential)

• Experience with 12d drainage (highly regarded)

• Exposure to Civil 3D, OpenRoads and/or MicroStation (advantageous)

• Associate Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering

• Proven experience delivering TMR, TfNSW, VicRoads or major council projects (e.g. BCC, GCCC)

• Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and managing design interfaces
