Job Description
Grow and develop your Mechanical Engineering abilities leveraging the AECOM global technical experts while working in a team with extensive local experience. You will have the opportunity to work and build your design and engineering experience, supporting the team who are delivering water related projects including pump stations, piping design, hydraulics, and dam engineering. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional to contribute to high-profile projects in the Christchurch area and across ANZ.
- Supporting the delivery of work packages within multidisciplinary three-waters and dams engineering projects, applying your mechanical engineering knowledge.
- Building your experience to develop, validate and integrate mechanical design inputs using established methodologies, relevant standards, asset owner specifications, and industry best practice.
- Conduct hydraulic analyses to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Independently perform the tasks necessary to support the primary design elements for engineering works, with verification and guidance from Senior Engineers.
- Apply and build your collaboration abilities across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
Qualifications
You will be a professional Mechanical Engineer, looking to grow and develop your engineering and design career and may suit an early career Engineer coming towards the end of a Graduate program.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in water systems.
- Exposure and some knowledge of pump station design, piping design, valves, and hydraulics.
- Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools (e.g. Inventor, HAMMER, AutoCAD, Revit, AutoPIPE, etc.).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Considering or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer is preferred.
