Job Description
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking an ESG Sustainability Advisory Lead – US East and Latin America in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as an integral member of the Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Advisory team to advise high profile clients on the risks and opportunities that a maturing ESG landscape provides
- Work with client account managers and marketing leads to create and identify ESG advisory opportunities, lead the capture of high-margin projects that will grow the ESG Advisory portfolio and contribute to downstream strategic commissions
- Liaise with ESG and sustainability teams to deliver for clients on secured ESG Advisory work and follow up with insights for key client account managers on pull-through work opportunities
- Offer technical expertise and industry knowledge to business leaders, marketing, and communications teams, securing thought leadership and speaking opportunities that demonstrate your insights and experience
- Strategize and support the ESG Advisory practice lead and senior management with strategic support to grow the business
- Support the technical development of the ESG Advisory practice and bring in additional recruits to the business while developing the career progression of colleagues to reach their full potential
- Telecommuting permitted up to 3 days per week
- Up to 5% domestic travel required and up to 15% international travel required
Qualifications
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energy, Physical Sciences, Natural Resources, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience in the job offered or as an Assurance Practice Manager, Operations Manager, Environmental Consultant or a related occupation.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energy, Physical Sciences, Natural Resources, or a related field of study and 3 years of experience.
Position requires experience in the following:
- Collaborating with a senior-level client network, including at C-Suite and Board level, to advise senior decision making and budget holding individuals in client organizations
- Developing new ESG focused consultancy opportunities and writing winning proposals
- Advising clients on ESG strategies and pathways that are supporting transition to a sustainable, low carbon future
- Global ESG reporting ecosystem and disclosure standards including SASB, GRI, GRESB, TCFD, CDP, EcoVadis, the GHG Protocol and SBTi
- Leading projects that deliver required client outcomes within time and budget
- Leading decarbonization planning and emissions quantification projects
- Leading small technical teams and managing client relationships on project completion
- Supporting the development of junior decarbonization/GHG team members
- Supporting the growth of carbon-reduction project, including internal and external-facing elements
- Full Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon accounting across complex multi-national organizations and experience in the application of key standards and guidelines
- Creating credible and evidence-based net zero and decarbonization strategies (including cost-benefit analysis) and supporting businesses to develop and deliver implementation plans across scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emission sources
- Driving decarbonization business development activities, including proposal development, client business development calls, sales presentations, and development of cost estimates
- Current and relevant global policies, legislation and guidance and wider best practice on carbon management, reporting, target setting and reduction including PAS2080:2023, SBTi, TCFD, and CSSB/ISSB
- Identifying, reviewing and synthesizing key findings of independent research in scientific and engineering literature and reports
- Energy efficiency and GHG management, including decarbonization mechanisms and technologies
- Direct experience in a consulting environment, including client-relationship management
