Job Description
“AECOM fosters a great culture where alignment between people and projects leads to outstanding outcomes." Colin Rossetti, Resource & Industrial Sector Director, ANZ
Come grow with us.
At AECOM, we partner with mining and industrial clients to optimise production, reduce costs, and support the transition to lower-emissions operations. With a global presence and local leadership, we manage risks and prioritise safety, sustainability, and community expectations.
Our services cover the entire project lifecycle - from concept, design, engineering, and project management to commissioning, operations, and decommissioning. We support clients in both greenfield and brownfield mining and minerals processing, helping them adapt to climate change and implement technologies that reduce environmental impact as they work toward net-zero emissions and support low-emissions technologies.
Everyone belongs at AECOM.

- Develop technical documentation and detailed design deliverables, including specifications, reports, and design calculations.
- Prepare vendor packages, including datasheets and specifications for conveyors, and liaise with vendors throughout the procurement phase.
- Assist senior engineers with the preparation and development of engineering reports.
- Coordinate with structural, electrical, and civil engineering teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian Standards, client specifications, and safety requirements.
- Support project delivery from concept and feasibility through to detailed design.
Qualifications
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-7 years demonstrated experience in bulk materials handling design within mining, resources, or heavy industry (or similar sectors).
- Strong capability in engineering design, analysis, and technical problem solving.
- Experience using materials handling design software such as Sidewinder, Belt Analyst, Helix, Rocky DEM, or similar tools is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of Australian standards relevant to mining equipment and bulk materials handling systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
