Are you ready to join a team of talented engineers and shape the future of renewable energy infrastructure?
Join our dynamic and innovative Renewable Energy team and gain exposure to a variety of exciting projects at all stages of design from feasibility to detailed design and site construction supervision both in the UK and internationally. The team's clients are a mix between large energy utility generators to private developers. You'll have the opportunity to work across the following technologies:
- Hydroelectric (run of river and pumped storage)
- Solar PV
- Onshore Wind
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Support the delivery of consultancy services on renewable energy engineering projects.
- Provide input into feasibility level studies for renewable energy projects in conjunction with the wider AECOM teams.
- Prepare technical reports.
- Prepare detailed design information.
- Assist in securing work with renewable energy developers and their supply chain.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- BEng Mechanical Engineering
- MSc/MEng would be an advantage.
- The ability to demonstrate a commitment to continued education and improvement through participating in our approved training schemes.
- Demonstrable interest in a career in renewable energy.
- Good Microsoft Office skills essential such as Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- The ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing with the confidence to engage with a variety of people (clients, colleagues, stakeholders, and sub-contractors alike) and have the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.
- Someone who is enthusiastic, hard-working, with ambition and drive.
- The ability to structure & prioritise work effectively through close cooperation with the team as a whole.
- The ability to work in a team and independently without losing initiative & focus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in the renewable energy or related field (e.g. working for either a power developer, equipment manufacturer, or consultant).
- Some familiarity with CAD and ArcGIS would be beneficial.
- Driving license – some travel to site may be required.
- Actively working towards chartership.
