Job Description

As an AI Architect, you will define the reference architectures, architectural standards, and decision frameworks that solution architects use when building AI-enabled systems across the enterprise. These architectures support multiple back-office domains such as HR, Finance, IT, and other core business functions.

This role sits within the Operational AI organization, which focuses on enabling production-grade AI systems embedded into enterprise business processes. The AI Architect ensures AI solutions are designed consistently, securely, and at scale through rigorous technical guidance and the enforcement of enterprise architectural guardrails.

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules to include both in-office presence and telecommute/virtual work, to be based from either Houston or Dallas, TX.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own reference architectures used by solution architects across multiple enterprise domains
  • Establish architectural standards and guardrails that guide AI system design and cross-domain consistency
  • Serve as the primary authority for AI system patterns (e.g., RAG, Agentic Orchestration), ensuring all implementations align with approved enterprise-level toolsets defined by the Lead AI Architect.
  • Enable solution architects and delivery teams through clear frameworks, reusable design patterns, and architectural guidance
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, platform, data, security, and AI leadership teams to ensure AI systems integrate seamlessly with existing corporate infrastructure.
  • Communicate architectural direction, constraints, and trade-offs to senior and executive stakeholders
  • Evolve reference architectures based on scale, governance requirements, and adoption feedback

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS and a minimum of 12 years of engineering experience, including 4 yrs of tech leadership experience or demonstrated equivalent experience and education
  • Demonstrated experience defining and owning reference architectures adopted by multiple teams
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native system design, APIs, and security fundamentals
  • Experience designing production-grade AI-enabled systems (e.g., GenAI, orchestration, automation)
  • Proven ability to influence architectural decisions and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating at enterprise scale across multiple business domains
  • Background in architectural governance, standards definition, or domain architecture
  • Familiarity with AI governance and responsible AI considerations
  • Experience working across multiple cloud or automation platforms
  • Master’s degree preferred

Additional Information

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position
  • Sponsorship for US work authorization is not available for this position, now or in the future.
