Job Description

The Senior Structural Engineer will provide technical leadership across projects, ensuring high-quality design delivery within scope, budget, and schedule. This role involves managing structural teams, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining strong client relationships while driving innovation and digital transformation.

 

Job Duties

Team responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level structural engineers, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve shared project goals, ensuring structural contributions enhance overall project success.
  • Promote an inclusive and respectful work environment, upholding equal treatment and adherence to company policies.
  • Support technical development by sharing expertise, encouraging continuous learning, and ensuring discipline skills remain current and industry-relevant.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in all technical and team interactions.
  • Coach team members to maximize their strengths and contribute effectively to project outcomes.
  • Maintain accountability for personal and team performance, setting and reinforcing high standards of technical excellence.

Engineering:

  • Lead technical aspects of structural engineering projects, supporting Project Managers and technical teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Review designs and drawings to ensure accurate translation from scheme design to detailed design and final drawings.
  • Monitor and ensure project delivery within client budget and agreed timelines.
  • Manage, coordinate, and allocate resources for structural teams effectively.
  • Utilize and maintain proficiency in structural design software such as Revit, Tekla Structural Designer, and other relevant tools.
  • Operate within a multidisciplinary environment where all project drawings are generated using BIM tools (Autodesk Revit).
  • Interface with clients regarding schedules, meetings, and project issues, managing expectations and fostering positive relationships.
  • Identify potential delays or priority conflicts and implement alternative action plans proactively.
  • Apply broad engineering principles and practices to diverse assignments, demonstrating technical expertise and innovation.
  • Act independently on technical matters, ensuring delivery of technical excellence.
  • Perform technical quality reviews and serve as Lead Verifier, confirming compliance with client scope and expectations.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives within the discipline and embrace process improvements.
  • Ensure effective coordination between structural and other disciplines to deliver fully integrated and constructible designs, including support for construction supervision teams.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of structural engineering experience, including leadership in technical delivery and team coordination.
  • Professionally registered with PRC as Pr.Eng. for at least 8 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural), preferably M.Eng or MSc.Eng.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor structural teams.
  • Strong resource planning and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interface effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and implement innovative solutions.
  • Commitment to supporting digital transformation and adopting new technologies.
