Job Description
- Take ownership for substation technical discussions with the client and internal multi-disciplinary teams to establish scopes, define interfacing and ensure delivery
- Take ownership of technical delivery with engineering teams by agreeing approach, supporting scope understanding, monitoring progress and quality checking
- Developing specifications or detailed designs for substation control systems, transformers, GIS, and AIS switchgear
- Utilize knowledge of substation project/asset life cycle from a design perspective to successfully deliver client projects
- Design Primary plant layouts for substations
- Equipment specifications for HV Plant and associated equipment
- Owners’ Engineer role on HV substation/grid integration design projects
- Build client relationships, understanding client requirements and perspectives, building trust and adopting a client orientated project delivery mindset
- Demonstrate commercial awareness to carry out proposal development, monitor/manage project costs and enable opportunity identification
- Support the growth of the regional business and technical capabilities
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong technical expertise in HV/MV/LV electrical systems
- Understanding of electrical AC HV Plant infrastructure and equipment both AIS and GIS
- Proven experience in the German energy market, with strong knowledge of local standards, grid codes and regulations to ensure compliance with German and EU requirements
- Fluency in German and familiarity with local delivery practices are essential
- Experience as a designer or as project engineer
- Proven experience delivering complex energy projects within the German energy sector
- Experience designing electrical infrastructure at concept and FEED and detailed design stages
- The ability to work flexibly across multiple projects
- Experience in Technical report writing
- Experience with mentorship and growing team capabilities
- Data Centre experience is also highly desirable
