Job Description
Position Overview
- We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Programming & Scheduling Expert to lead the planning, programming, and scheduling of major bridge projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil works, construction planning, and project management, with a proven ability to prepare and manage complex work schedules. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and expertise in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed work programs and schedules for major bridge projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Utilize advanced scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) to optimize resource allocation and project execution.
- Monitor and update project schedules regularly to reflect progress and address delays or changes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate construction planning and scheduling into overall project management.
- Ensure seamless coordination between design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
- Identify critical paths, milestones, and dependencies to ensure timely project delivery.
- Oversee the supervision and execution of major bridge projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
- Conduct regular reviews of project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to project teams.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize schedule disruptions.
- Analyze schedule impacts of claims, variations, and unforeseen circumstances.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and government authorities to ensure alignment with project schedules and requirements.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on project schedules, progress, and performance metrics to stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of project schedules, updates, and correspondence.
- Prepare periodic reports and dashboards to track schedule performance and highlight key issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Post-Graduation in Construction Management or a Certificate Course in Construction Management/Contract Management or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in civil works, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- At least 7 years of experience as a Construction Planning Expert or Project Manager in the supervision/execution of major bridge projects.
Additional Information
Preferred Attributes
- Proficiency in scheduling tools such as Primavera, MS Project, or equivalent software.
- Experience working on projects funded by multilateral or bilateral agencies.
- Knowledge of international standards and best practices in construction scheduling.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are an added advantage.
