Job Description
AECOM is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Project Inspector to join our Morgantown, WV team, however, the project work will be in Martinsburg, WV. This is an excellent opportunity to play a hands-on role in delivering complex, high-impact construction projects that support critical infrastructure and community growth.
As a Project Inspector, you’ll be essential to ensuring every phase of construction meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals, gain exposure to significant federal work, and contribute directly to the successful execution of projects that truly make a difference.
The Project Inspector’s responsibilities include:
- Conduct thorough field inspections of all work, including materials, equipment, and workmanship, confirming compliance with construction documents and federal standards.
- Maintain detailed inspection logs, daily progress reports, defect and omission records, and coordinate with stakeholders for corrective actions.
- Review contractor quality control activities, third-party testing reports, and confirm adherence to approved health and safety plans.
- Collaborate with the customer, contractors, and other stakeholders to schedule inspections, resolve issues, and facilitate project progress. adherence to labor standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols, including OSHA requirements.
- Participate in pre-final and final walkthroughs, consolidate punch lists, and confirm all documentation is complete for project turnover.
- Identify potential risks or delays and recommend remedial actions to mitigate impacts on the project schedule and budget.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- HS + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 5+ years’ proven experience in construction inspection for projects of similar size and complexity, particularly roofing systems.
- Experience in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in construction management and inspection software tools.
- HSPD-12 clearance for federal facility access.
- Registered Roofing Observer (RRO) certification or equivalent.
- Experience in interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of inspection and reporting.
- Experience in safety practices in the construction industry, including a background of familiarity with OSHA safety requirements on construction projects.
- Experience of applicable codes and standards.
- Experience in identifying and resolve construction challenges effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
