Job Description

AECOM is seeking a highly experienced Chief Construction Planning & Monitoring Expert to lead and oversee construction planning and monitoring activities for metro rail projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing detailed construction schedules, monitoring progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, and optimizing resource allocation. This senior leadership role requires close collaboration with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Job Duties:

  • Develop comprehensive construction schedules and plans for metro rail projects, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Identify critical paths and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Optimize construction methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Oversee the monitoring of construction progress against planned schedules.
  • Implement systems to track project performance, identify delays, and propose corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

  • Work closely with contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of construction activities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address planning and monitoring challenges.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and resolve concerns.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address construction delays, resource shortages, or unforeseen challenges.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement contingency plans.
  • Prepare detailed reports on construction progress, including schedules, performance metrics, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of planning and monitoring activities for audits and future reference.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the planning and monitoring team.
  • Mentor junior engineers and planners to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Ensure all planning and monitoring activities comply with relevant standards, codes, and project specifications.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure construction activities meet the required standards.

Qualifications

Graduate degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

Additional Information

  • A minimum of 24 years of total experience in construction planning and monitoring roles.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience in metro rail projects, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure planning and execution.
  • Proven expertise in managing complex construction schedules and optimizing project delivery.
