Job Description
AECOM's Southern California Water/Wastewater/Conveyance Division is actively seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our team in Orange, CA and lead project delivery. This position will be part of an exciting team employing the latest technologies to solve critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, and conveyance systems throughout the United States. This is an opportunity to work on some of our nation’s most pressing water infrastructure projects and contributing to AECOM’s success as an industry leader in engineering and construction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead design projects from planning through construction.
- Oversee interdisciplinary project teams on site civil, drainage, and conveyance projects.
- Conduct conceptual and detailed engineering designs, technical and constructability reviews, and quality control.
- Prepare/verify engineering calculations, drawings, technical specifications, and design reports.
- Manage project staff, project teams, and coordinate with project managers.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field. and 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design, or equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 18+ years of experience in the field of civil engineering.
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered Professional Civil Engineer in California, or ability to obtain within one year.
- Strong experience with site grading design, drainage design, conveyance system design, utility engineering,
- Strong user of CAD and design software (Civil 3D, MicroStation, Water CAD, Bentley Design Suites, etc.)
- Experience in working with local and state regulatory agencies.
- Experience with workload forecasting, resource management, project management, and mentorship.
- Ability to lead a team of engineers independently and manage subconsultants.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Proactive on assignments and demonstrate initiative
