Job Description
Project Brief:
The project includes superstructure, ELS, site formation and civil drainage works.
Position: Resident Engineer (TCP T5 - Site Formation, ELS and Superstructure Works)
Job Duties:
1. Act as the RSE & RGE T5 & T3 and RSE’s & RGE’s Representative full time on site;
2. Accountable and report to the AP/RSE/RGE and take-in-charge of the RE Site Office for implementing both the RSE’s and RGE’s supervision;
3. Implement and monitor the HKHS’s integrated quality assurance system, site safety and environmental systems on site;
4. Take overall responsibility to check the site safety measures in compliance with the requirements of supervision plans;
5. Carry out specific tasks as per the requirements and checklist devised from RSE/RGE and representative of Client;
6. Supervise the junior TCPs comprising Assistant Resident Engineers to check the essential items for specified tasks, including but not limited to superstructure including precast construction, ELS, site formation and drainage works;
7. Coordinate and compile reports on supervision activities including site progress reports and reports on non-conformities;
8. Assist the RSE/RGE to appraise and monitor the structural stability of adjacent buildings, structures, slopes, streets and services before and after construction;
9. Check the works in compliance with the approved plans and contractual requirements, method statements, precautionary and protective measures;
10. Check and resolve any discrepancies between drawings, specifications, and actual site situations;
11. Review Contractor’s submissions;
12. Monitor the work of the Registered Contractor’s TCPs;
13. Attend site meetings and project meetings, QA/QC meetings and other necessary meetings, and assist and coordinate with the design office for all site works/matters;
14. Keep records of daily site inspection activities with details to the satisfaction of the RSE/RGE. Prepare and submit bi-weekly site reports, QA/QC reports, inspection reports, defect reports, site records and other reports as necessary; and
15. Enforce ethics and compliance policy including Third Party payment, Sub-consultancy engagement process and Gift and Entertainment policy.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor or Master degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering;
2. MHKIE or equivalent and Registered Professional Engineer (Civil / Structural)
3. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with superstructure and civil drainage works, ELS, site formation. Building Works with significant geotechnical content would be an advantage;
4. Ability to coordinate with other parties in the construction site environment;
5. Ability to lead the site office and supervise the site team;
6. Experience and awareness in contractual issues in construction, and
7. Fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
