Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Controls Analyst to join our team. As a Project Controller you will be offered the opportunity to work with high-profile clients, develop your skills and diversify your experience. Project Controls require a diversified skillset in cost, schedule, and risk. Depending on the development phase of the projects, accountabilities can be summarized as delivery and support of the following activities:

General Project Controls

· Support the project controls process and systems.

· Provide the Project Manager with monthly progress updates, forecast completions, together with the critical path and trend analyses.

· Conduct analysis to determine alternative courses of action or recovery on slipped budgets and /or schedules. Review scope change requests for the total installed cost & schedule impact.

· Support interaction with other disciplines on the program, such as Project Management, Project Engineering, HSE, Discipline Engineering, Finance, Contracts & Procurement, etc.

· Create a clear relationship with the Finance & Contracts & Procurement functions in the project and align the respective on roles, responsibilities and deliverables.

Cost Management

· Follow appropriate cost management, planning, and progress monitoring procedures.

· Provide support in the development of cost breakdown structures, records and forecasts for internal and external projects.

· Manage commitments, actual costs and allocations. Provide input to the bid evaluate award process.

· Calculate incurred costs and developing/maintaining the incurred cost forecast.

· Perform cost variance and root cause analysis.

· Maintain the project contingency.

· Analyse trends that offer early warning of any deviations.

· Understand the project baseline and control budget including scope definition, estimated costs, schedule dates and durations and execution strategies to facilitate immediate decisions on project change.

Scheduling

· Evaluate program schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas.

· Provide support in the development of the work breakdown structure, activities, logic, resources and progress of the integrated project schedule, i.e. baseline.

· Create and maintain project schedules that support and align with project requirements, working in conjunction with project managers and other project participants.

· Support development of contract key dates, milestones and Client plan dates for alignment with the overall integrated plan, in evaluating bid schedules and in reviewing contractor plans to support contract award recommendations.

· Analyze critical path and constraints to determine effect of changes to schedule.

 Estimating

· Provide cost estimates mining & industrial projects from concept to feasibility.

· Register and track estimates, maintain client records and produce internal reports

· Ensure sign-off and approvals are obtained in accordance with client and internal procedures.

· Support contract pricing and administration instructions for alignment with the cost breakdown structure, bid evaluations and client estimates to support contract award recommendations.

· Perform probabilistic techniques to determine and communicate the possible range of cost and schedule outcomes for the project.

· Prepare reconciliations between earlier cost estimates and the current cost forecast.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with 4 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of five years industry experience in project controls.

Computer literacy in Microsoft applications, including Excel (experienced), Word, and PowerPoint.

Familiar with Project Controls Software (Prism, InEight, etc.) an asset.

Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

Familiar with industry project controls standards (AACEi, etc.).

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Engineering/Business/Finance/Construction Management Degree and/or Certification or equivalent

Professional certification preferred

Bilingual English/French an asset
