Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced Utility Coordinator to join our transportation business line in North Carolina. This position is part time 24 hours per week and remote work option.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a fully capable professional in the field with minimal direction.
- Apply advanced knowledge to develop design procedures software and tools to facilitate high quality cost-effective technical project activities.
- Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Manages communication and collaboration with full design team and clients.
- Conducts interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Oversee the development and implementation of technical approach and the completion of complex work which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
- Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentations and design drawings.
- Prepares designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings and working drawings.
- Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
- May oversee the work of less experienced designers.
- Meets with clients and oversee all aspects of the project to ensure client needs are met.
- provides utility coordination services for highway, bridge, and municipal projects throughout North Carolina.
- Read, interpret, and review transportation construction plans to coordinate public and private utility relocations to accommodate projects.
- Attend utility meetings with various stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- BA/BS in related field and 6 years of utility coordination related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred:
- Experience reading and interpreting highway construction plans and utility construction plans.
- Experience in communicating with public agencies, contractors, or utility companies.
- Experience in project management scheduling and coordinating multiple factors in the project.
- Experience planning and coordinating utility relocations.
- Proficient in performing duties independently with limited supervision.
